In 1985, I started developing software under the name PoVelty, using the programming languages COBOL and GW-BASIC. I developed various calculation programs for an accountancy firm, linked to the dBASE III database system. From 1989 onwards, I also began creating text adventures, written in QuickBASIC 4.5.
In the years that followed, up until 2011, websites were designed and built, with writing taking on an increasingly important role. In-house CMS systems were developed, several innovation awards were won, and a French invention eventually led to PoVelty becoming the publisher of an in-house developed magazine about environmentally friendly boating.
In 2019, Het 'Animal House' – Een humoristisch verhaal was independently published. This was followed by the development of EasyELO: a clear and secure electronic learning environment for training organisations, training providers, internal learning programmes and other small-scale educational programmes.
With this combination of software development, writing and publishing, the choice was a logical one: the book series is also independently published by PoVelty.
